Shrinkage and swelling are the two bad physical properties of wood. That\'s because the biggest problems that occur in wood-based products are precisely of this nature.\nWood products are exposed to different climate conditions during their service. As a result of changes in moisture and temperature dimensional changes can occur in different parts of furniture that cause disruptions of join elements, cracking of attached parts, decay layers or protective lacquers and other damages to the furniture.\nAfter consultations with the Kosovo Hydro-meteorological Institute and with their recommendations, the study was oriented in three different regions, from where the extracted data can also be used for other regions.\nThe paper provides seasonal data on changes of relative humidity and temperature for some regions of Kosovo, extracted for a 38-year period (1970-2008). Based on these data there are calculated the maximum and minimum possibilities of shrinkage or swelling of beech wood (Fagus Sylvatica L) and oak wood (Quercus Sessiliflora). The study provided the most common faults that are related to these two properties of wood that appear in the final product of furniture.\nThe study was conducted specifically by going to manufacturing entities of furniture for external use in regions taken into consideration and are illustrated with concrete examples the defects caused as a result of changes in these parameters.\nThere are also shown the data computed of equilibrium moisture of wood for the regions of Peja, Pristina and Ferizaj.\nThere are provided recommendations in order to reduce the defects occurring in wooden objects, when external climatic conditions change.
The aim of the present study was to analyze the dose dependency of oxidant-antioxidant homeostasis in Cd2+ exposed Nostoc muscorum Meg 1 cells. Quantification of percent DNA loss, protein oxidation and lipid peroxidation was carried out to assess Cd2+ induced ROS mediated damages to the organism. The countermeasures adopted by the cyanobacterium were also evaluated by computing various components of both enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants. Exposure to different Cd2+ (0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 ppm) doses showed substantial increase in ROS content in the ranges of 20 – 181% and 116 – 323% at the end of first and seventh day. The DNA damage, protein oxidation and lipid peroxidation were increased by 11 – 62%, 7 – 143% and 13 – 183% with increasing Cd2+ concentrations at the end of seven days. TEM images clearly showed damages to the cell wall, cell membrane and thylakoid organization at higher Cd2+ (0.5 – 3 ppm) concentrations. Cd2+ exposure up to 0.5 ppm registered increase in contents of antioxidative enzymes (superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and glutathione reductase (GR)) and in non-enzymatic antioxidants (glutathione, total thiol, phytochelatin and proline) indicating stimulation of ROS mitigating machinery. However, toxicity of Cd2+ was evident as at higher concentrations the cellular morphology and ultra-structures were negatively affected and the capacities of the cells to generate various antioxidant measures were highly compromised. The organism registered 96 – 98% sorption ability from a solution supplemented with 0.3 ppm Cd2+ and thus show realistic potential as Cd2+ bioremediator in wastewater treatment.
The press, by spreading the availability of resources, shortages linked with preservation. In this sense, the work explores nine briefings from 2002 to 2020 published in national newspapers regarding the lack of supply, quality, benefit, punishment and discomfort as a consequence of the water situation in a demarcation east of Mexico City.Index Framing the water situation (IESH) was used to weight the media bias in information note by content reaching a value of 102 points out of a total of 180. This finding was considered as evidence of a moderate degree of media coverage the press regarding the problems arising from water shortages. From the results discussed its implications with other studies conducted in the demarcation.
An investigation into the overlap of art and judo. In this brief article, I argue that judo follows a similar kind of pattern that informs the underlying first principles of visual arts, namely its formal, abstract components (line, colour, composition and so on). In so doing, an interdisciplinary nexus exists between fields. This suggest a paradigm shift toward the non-dualistic, and life as embodied and experiential.
ABSTRACT. The chosen study mainly investigates the gender differences in colorectal polyps, which are intraepithelial neoplasms growing through from the wall of the colon and rectum to its origin that can be found in different scopes ranging from small polyps to large ones. Histologically, the polyp cancers include normal epithelium, adenomatous tissue, atypia, and invasive invasion. Under this, the bigger polyps have a higher possibility of being malignant. The main objective of the research is the pathohistological consequences of colorectal adenomatosis polyps and their gender-based assessment. Gender and its connection with advanced colorectal dysplasia are the focus of the research study. There is strong evidence for an association between gender and the risk of advanced colorectal neoplasia. The findings regarding the positive interrelation for gender and advanced colorectal neoplasia are consistent with other large colonoscopy-based studies.
Capitalism certainly gave birth to technology that brought about a radical change in the modern world. Science, technology, and capitalism eventually become three pillars that play a role in shaping a network of instrumental rationality, efficiency rationality, bureaucracy and cost / benefit calculations to liberate and enlighten humans according to the ideals of enlightenment. Some evidence shows that accounting practices have been thick with capitalism. Accounting in modern business practices is synonymous with numbers. This also ensures that accounting is not a form of science and practice that is free of value but instead accounting is a discipline of science and practice that is loaded with values. Economics teaches, humans are always faced with choices. Likewise, the economic system used in business practice is now part of shaping a better future. There are two choices, run an existing one or offer a new alternative. This new alternative, can be entirely new, or make an existing one with some adjustments which if necessary are fundamental.
Most of the nations with deplorable health conditions lack rapid COVID-19 diagnostic test due to limited testing kits and laboratories. The un-diagnostic mild cases (who show no critical sign and symptoms) play the role as a route that spread the infection unknowingly to healthy individuals. In this paper, we present a fractional order SIR model incorporating individual with mild cases as a compartment to become SMIR model. The existence of the solutions of the model is investigated by solving the fractional Gronwall’s inequality using the Laplace transform approach. The equilibrium solutions (DFE & Endemic) are found to be locally asymptotically stable, and subsequently the basic reproduction number is obtained. Also the global stability analysis is carried out by constructing Lyapunov function. Lastly, numerical simulations that support analytic solution follow.

The inhibition effect of Cefalexin on the corrosion of mild steel in sodium chloride have been examined with the use of electrochemical potentiodynamic polarization techniques, weight loss measurements and computational studies. Cefalexin showed good protection ability by adsorbing on the mild steel surface. The mixed inhibition characteristics of Cefalexin were revealed by the Potentiodynamic polarization results. The inhibitor efficiency was found to be above 65% obeying the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm law with correlation regression coefficient of R2= 0.9984 and R2= 0.9488 respectively, establishing the reliability on Cefalexin as an inhibitor.
