The artificial creation of biocrusts can be a rapid and pervasive solution to reduce wind erosion potential (WEP) in the drying up lakes (e.g., Lake Urmia). Thus, we created a biocrust by inoculation of bacteria and cyanobacteria on trays filled by collected soils from the dried-up bed of Lake Urmia, Iran, to reduce the WEP, at laboratory conditions. We used the wind erodible fraction of soil (EF) and soil crust factor (SCF) equations to calculate the WEP of the treated soils. The EF and SCF decreased (p<0.0) by the co-inoculation of bacteria and cyanobacteria by 5.6 and 10.57%, respectively, as compared to the control, and “cyanobacteria alone” inoculation decreased the EF by 3.9%. We found that the inoculation decreased WEP of the study soil by increasing soil organic matter content by 3.7-fold to 5-fold. According to scanning electron microscopy images, the inoculated microorganisms, especially cyanobacteria, improved soil aggregation by their exopolysaccharides and filaments; thus, they can be used as other factors for the estimation of the soil erodibility in the well-developed biocrusts. The inoculation technique could be considered as a rapid strategy in stabilizing lakebeds against wind force, if confirmed after natural conditions along with wind tunnel experiments data evaluations.

Biological invasions are linking with concerns of biodiversity, environment, and economic problem. The study deals with 37 invasive alien species (IAS) that have been invaded Egypt, including invasion level evolution for future planning and management. Meanwhile, the elicitation approach to plant traits will contribute to an improved understanding of invasiveness and risk levels of IAS. These plants had about 56.75% annuals, 32.43 % perennial and 8.11% shrubs species, which included around 26.08% clonal plants. Australian Weeds Risk Assessment has been used to discriminate IAS risks as an effective screening protocol. Three groups or categories were listed and assigned; 27.0% group I (high risk), 56.75% group II (middle risk), and 16.21% group III (low risk) according to risk assessments from these IAS. A significant positive trend was detected concerning clonality, invasiveness, and the risks of IAS. Across five continents, the majority of the species were originally come from America, followed by Asia. Overall, the risk assessment protocols set priority for control efforts on invasive weeds, while, still seed production remains an important priority in the prevention of IAS. Therefore, a continuous monitoring of invasive weed species risks and consequence effects is needed to enhance prevention policy and implement suitable effective management strategies.

To promote the startup movement in Vietnam, the Prime Minister approved the project \"Supporting a national innovation start-up ecosystem to 2025\" (Decision No. 844 / QD-TTg) on May 18, 2016. Then the Ministry of Science and Technology (S&T) approved the list of tasks to order subject to the temporary regulations on processing dossiers to participate in the project \"Support for national startup ecosystem to 2025” (Decision 3362 / QD-BKHCN) on February 7, 2017. According to the Department of Business Registration (Ministry of Planning and Investment), in the period 2016 - 2019, each year, Vietnam has more than 126,000 established businesses, which is 1.6 times higher than the period 2011-2015. However, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)’s survey results given at the end of 2019 at the seminar “Completing the policy support for start-ups” shows that less than 10% of Vietnamese start-ups are successful. There are many reasons for the failure of Vietnamese startups, but one of the reasons comes from the rush to start right after thinking of an idea without clearly defining business goals, as well as a direction the market for the product. Therefore, research on the impact of market orientation on the performance of Vietnamese start-ups is essential in the current context.

The objectives of this paper are the application of Sensitivity Analysis methods in atmospheric dispersion modeling to the Emission Dispersion Model (EDM) to study the prediction of atmospheric dispersion of NO2 generated by an industrial fire, whose results are useful for fire safety applications. The Emission Dispersion Model (EDM) is was used to predict the level concentration of Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) emitted by an industrial fire in a plant located in an industrial region site in Algeria. The Sensitivity Analysis was defined for the following input parameters: wind speed, NO2 emission rate and viscosity, and diffusivity coefficients by simulating the air quality impacts of fire on an industrial area. Two SA methods are used: a local sensitivity analysis by using a One At a Time technique and a global sensitivity analysis, for which correlation analysis was conducted on the EDM using the Standardized Regression Coefficient. The study demonstrates that, under ordinary weather conditions and for the fields near to the fire, the NO2 initial concentration has the most influence on the predicted NO2 levels than any other model input. Whereas, for the far field, the initial concentration and the wind speed have the most impact on the NO2 concentration estimation. The study shows that an effective decision-making process should not be only based on the mean values, but it should, in particular, consider the upper bound plume concentration.

Background: Artemisia roxburghiana Wall. ex Besser, belongs to the family Compositae, is used as folk medicine against various ailments including diabetes mellitus. An essential oil found in its aerial parts was found effective as an insect repellant. \nAim: The present study aims to establish the microscopic identification of Artemisia roxburghiana and characterise its essential oil. \nMethods: The microscopic characterisation of leaf, stem and root of the plant was carried out using a compound microscope under 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x magnification. The essential oil was isolated by the hydro-distillation method and characterised with the help of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. \nResults: The microscopic studies revealed that the leaf has a single-layered upper epidermis with multicellular trichomes whereas the stem has single-layered epidermal cells, compactly arranged without intercellular spaces. The epidermis of the root is double-layered, thin-walled and colourless without intercellular spaces. The GC-MS studies found that α-eudesmole (6.52%), trans sabinene hydrate (6.02%), artemisia ketone (5.97%) and 1,8 cineole (4.92%) were the major volatile constituents present in the essential oil. \nConclusion: The study has successfully established the methods for microscopic characterisation and essential oil analysis of Artemisia roxburghiana.

In this study, the effect of a power converter SEPIC type converter, which converts the DC voltage generated from photovoltaic panels, which is one of the environmental energy production sources, to another DC voltage level, on the output voltage stability under five different types of controllers was investigated. The simulation of the system was performed by connecting PI, Fuzzy Logic, Fuzzy-Tuned PI, 2-DOF PI and Fractional PID controllers to the proposed SEPIC converter, respectively. System efficiency and stability were compared under the influence of these five different types of controllers. System performance in stable and transient conditions was carried out in MATLAB-SIMULINK environment to emphasize the basis of studies.
