Title:PHYSICAL STABILITY TEST OF ETHANOL EXTRACT CREAM PREPARATIONS BRACTEA BOUGAINVILLEA SPECTABILIS WILLD AS A SUNSCREEN BY METHOD THERMAL CYCLE
Abstract:Utilization bractea B. spectabilis Willd in a cream preparation containing flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, terpenoids and quinones functions as a sunscreen. The addition of extracts affects the stability of the cream preparation due to the difference in polarity with the cream base so a stability test is required. Physical stability testing is required to ensure the cream preparation continues to meet the requirements during the storage period. This research aims to determine the physical stability of the method thermal cycle on extract cream bractea B. spectabilis Willd related organoleptics, homogeneity, pH, stickiness, spreadability, and viscosity in room temperature storage for 6 cycles and compared the physical stability of cream with and without extract. Extraction by maceration using 70% ethanol, followed by testing the flavonoid extract and making cream. The test results were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 with the Repeated ANOVA test. Data are presented in the form of mean SD with a confidence level of 95%. Results of physical stability test of ethanol extract cream preparations bractea B. spectabilis Willd (0.5; 1.0 and 1.5%) by method thermal cycle including Organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, stickiness, spreadability, cream type remains stable with O/W cream type.
